The College of Communication and Arts
The College of Communication and Arts was established, in May of 2002, following the merging of the Advertising at the College of Economics and Management, and Radio and Television Script Writing at the College of Liberal Arts and Law.
The College offers six bachelor degree programs and three master degree programs. The Research Centre of Design Arts, the Research Centre of Innovation Thinking, the Research Centre of Chinese Literature, and the Centre of Media Arts were established to meet the needs of the post-graduate professionals in Media and Design. The College has a total staff of forty-four professionals, three full professors, nine associate professors and sixteen lecturers.
The College cooperates with universities and research organization in Austria , Germany , Japan , Switzerland , United States as well as in Chinese Hong Kong and Taiwan . Foreign experts with teaching experience and excellent reputations have been invited to be visiting professors and research teams leaders.
The College worked closely, in 2002, with the Shanghai Bidding Office of Expo 2010 for the organization of an international poster design. In 2003, it co-organized the "Beijing 2008"; a theme poster design competition with the Beijing Organizing Committee of Olympic Games. The College organizes annually a Visual Design Competition for University Students, which is the biggest and most influential completion of its kind in China .
